Imagine that you are doing a project on living conditions in rural areas in Zetland. You have found some data on the subject – the results of a survey conducted among Zetland school students (see the table below).
Comment on the survey data and give your opinion on the subject of the project.

Nowadays many young people leave villages for big cities, so making rural life more comfortable is becoming increasingly important. That is why I have decided to study what Zetland school students think should be done to improve living conditions in the countryside.
According to the survey, the most popular option is building hospitals and schools, chosen by 48% of the respondents. Improving internet access comes second with 20%, while 18% of the students would like more cultural events to be organized. Only 5% believe that public transport should be developed.
The data show that the share of those who chose hospitals and schools is more than twice as high as that of those who voted for better internet access. In my opinion, this is logical, because medical care and education are basic needs, whereas the internet is important but not vital. Building sports facilities was chosen by 9%, which is almost twice as many as developing public transport.
However, even if new hospitals and schools are built, a serious problem may arise: there may be a shortage of qualified doctors and teachers willing to work in rural areas. To solve it, the government could offer young specialists higher salaries, free housing and other benefits.
In conclusion, I believe that the best way to improve rural living conditions is to combine several measures. Hospitals and schools are the most urgent need, but fast internet and cultural life also matter if we want young people to stay.

- К3. Лексика до 3
Словарь высокого уровня, допускается одна лексическая ошибка. 2–3 ошибки (или бедный, но правильный словарь) — 2 балла, четыре — 1, пять и больше — 0.
- К4. Грамматика до 3
Разнообразные грамматические конструкции высокого уровня; для 3 баллов допускаются 1–2 неповторяющиеся ошибки. 3–4 ошибки — 2 балла, 5–7 — 1, восемь и больше — 0.
- К5. Орфография и пунктуация до 2
Максимум 2 балла: допускается одна орфографическая и (или) одна пунктуационная ошибка. 2–4 ошибки — 1 балл, пять и больше — 0.
Как выполнять
Объём — 200–250 слов. Меньше 180 слов — 0 баллов за всё задание; если больше 275 слов, проверяют только первые 250. Все числа из таблицы пишем цифрами, как в ней.
Пять абзацев строго по плану: 1) вступление — зачем изучать эту тему; 2) 2–3 факта из данных с цифрами; 3) 1–2 сравнения (more than twice as…, while…) и комментарий, почему так; 4) проблема и способ её решения; 5) вывод — своё мнение и аргумент.
Стиль нейтральный: без сокращений (it is, не it’s), без восклицаний и разговорных слов, с вводными фразами According to the survey…, In my opinion…, To sum up…
Не переписываем задание и данные дословно длинными кусками: больше 30 % совпадений с опубликованным текстом обнуляет работу.
Перед сдачей считаем слова и проверяем, что ни один пункт плана не пропущен.
